The sanitary butterfly valve is a high-purity fluid control valve specifically designed for stainless steel pipeline systems, suitable for various process industries with strict hygiene standards. This valve features both automatic and manual operation functions, enabling integration into automated control systems or allowing for on-site manual intervention when necessary, ensuring flexibility and reliability in application. Its core design aims to meet the strict requirements of the food and beverage, biopharmaceutical, cosmetics, and fine chemical industries for sterility, no residues, and easy cleaning. All flow components of the valve are made of high-quality stainless steel (such as SUS304/SUS316L) and undergo precise polishing treatment, with a smooth inner surface free of dead corners, effectively preventing the growth of microorganisms and material deposition, fully supporting complete online cleaning (CIP) and online sterilization (SIP) processes.
The working principle of the valve is based on a circular butterfly plate that rotates within the valve body. When opening, closing or regulating is required, the driving device drives the valve shaft to rotate, causing the butterfly plate to perform a 90-degree rotary movement in the flow channel. When closed, the outer edge of the butterfly plate precisely presses against the elastic sealing ring on the valve body, forming a reliable seal; when opened, the direction of the butterfly plate is parallel to the flow channel, causing minimal resistance to the fluid. This series of butterfly valves offers three standard pneumatic actuator options to meet different control logic requirements: the normally closed (NC) type automatically closes when the air supply is lost; the normally open (NO) type automatically opens when the air supply is lost; and the double-acting (A/A) type requires compressed air to perform the two actions of opening and closing. In addition, through the accompanying handwheel or worm gear box, the operator can precisely mechanically lock the valve to fix it in the open, closed or any intermediate position, thereby achieving stepless regulation of the fluid flow.

1. Outstanding sanitary design and easy-to-clean structure
The valve is specially designed for hygiene processes. Its streamlined valve body and butterfly plate design eliminate areas where the fluid may accumulate. All surfaces in contact with the medium are polished to a high standard, meeting hygiene certification requirements such as 3A, DIN, and ISO. The valve seats are typically made of elastic materials (such as EPDM, FKM) that comply with food or pharmaceutical grade standards, ensuring the hygiene and chemical compatibility of the seal. The entire valve structure is convenient for quick disassembly and thorough cleaning, providing a reliable guarantee for maintaining the hygiene level of the production line.
2. Flexible and diverse driving and operation methods
The core advantage of this valve lies in its operational flexibility. Users can select pneumatic actuators (normally closed, normally open, or double-acting type) according to their automation requirements, enabling rapid remote automatic control with quick response, suitable for frequent opening and closing scenarios. At the same time, it retains the direct manual operation function. The handle can be used for switching or flow regulation, and it provides an emergency operation method in the event of power or gas failure, ensuring the control redundancy and safety of the system.
3. Excellent flow regulation performance and low pressure loss characteristics
Unlike ball valves which can only perform on-off operations, butterfly valves can achieve linear or equal percentage flow regulation by rotating the butterfly plate. When the butterfly plate is at the middle opening position, it can smoothly and precisely control the flow, making it highly suitable for applications requiring process control. When fully open, the butterfly plate has little obstruction to the flow channel, resulting in low fluid resistance and small pressure loss, which helps to save system energy consumption.
4. Compact structure, lightweight and highly economical and efficient
Compared with other types of valves of the same caliber (such as ball valves), the structure of the butterfly valve is more compact and its overall weight is lighter. This not only saves installation space but also reduces the requirements for pipeline support. Its simple structure brings advantages in manufacturing cost and maintenance cost. In cases where large-diameter valves are needed, this economic aspect is particularly prominent.
5. Reliable sealing and wide applicability
By combining a high-performance elastic valve seat with a precise butterfly plate, a two-way bubble-level seal can be achieved during the closing process. Depending on the different valve seat materials (such as EPDM, FKM, PTFE), the valve can be adapted for the transportation of various media ranging from cold water, hot water, steam to various weakly corrosive food media or pharmaceutical liquids. It has a wide working temperature range and can meet the requirements of most sanitary process flows.
